TWS Earbud Component & Accessory Price Guide
Indicative unit prices at typical OEM volumes (5k–20k pcs), based on Shenzhen supply chain pricing as of 2026. Use these ranges to sanity-check quotations — they explain most of the spread between a $4 and a $40 finished product.
Prices are BOM-level (component cost, not finished-goods price) and move with memory markets and exchange rates. Treat them as negotiation calibration, not quotations.
Core electronics
| Component | Typical Range (USD) | What the Upgrade Buys You |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth SoC (entry: JL / budget BES) | $0.8 – $1.5 | Basic music + calls, SBC only. Promotional-grade products. |
| Bluetooth SoC (mid: BES 2300/2600, Airoha AB15xx) | $1.8 – $3.5 | AAC, good mics, ENC, ANC support, low-latency mode. Retail-grade. |
| Bluetooth SoC (flagship: Airoha AB156x-ANC, Qualcomm S3/S5) | $4 – $8+ | Hybrid ANC, aptX/Snapdragon Sound, premium brand positioning. |
| PCB (2–4 layer, HDI for ANC) | $0.3 – $0.9 | 4-layer needed for ANC and dense layouts. |
| MEMS microphone (per unit) | $0.15 – $0.6 | Better SNR for calls and ANC. ANC products use 2–3 per bud. |
| IR wear-detection sensor | $0.2 – $0.4 | Auto play/pause — expected in anything above entry level. |
Acoustic parts
| Component | Typical Range (USD) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamic driver 6–10 mm (standard) | $0.3 – $0.8 | Composites diaphragm (PU+PEEK) outperforms plain PET at same size. |
| Dynamic driver (premium / branded) | $1 – $2.5 | Coherent tuning, tighter T tolerance across production. |
| Balanced armature driver | $0.8 – $3 | For hybrid or multi-driver designs; adds crossover cost. |
| Eartips (silicone, per pair) | $0.02 – $0.08 | Medical-grade silicone costs ~2× but reduces skin-complaint returns. |
| Memory-foam eartips (per pair) | $0.15 – $0.4 | Strong perceived-value item in premium packaging. |
Power
| Component | Typical Range (USD) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bud battery 25–60 mAh (Li-po) | $0.35 – $0.8 | Brand cells (e.g. ATL-class) cost more but age far better. |
| Case battery 300–500 mAh | $0.5 – $1.1 | Check cycle-life spec (300–500 cycles standard). |
| Wireless charging coil + RX IC (Qi) | $0.8 – $1.4 | Adds ~$1.5–2 to case cost; expected in mid-tier and above. |
| Charging contacts / pogo pins | $0.1 – $0.25 | Gold plating thickness is the hidden quality variable. |
Mechanical, packaging & accessories
| Item | Typical Range (USD) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Injection shell + inner frame (per bud set) | $0.5 – $1.2 | Depends on texture: spray, IMC, or two-shot molding. |
| Charging case mechanism + shell | $1 – $2.2 | Hinge quality is the #1 warranty item. |
| Retail packaging (color box + tray + manual) | $0.3 – $1.2 | Magnet-closure box with hot stamping sits at the top. |
| USB-C cable, lanyard, pouch kit | $0.15 – $0.5 | Braided cable and fabric pouch read "premium" cheaply. |
How to read a quotation against this table
Add up the BOM for the specification you actually need, then add assembly (~$0.5–1 per set), testing, packaging and factory margin. If a quote lands far below that sum, something in the table above has been downgraded — ask which item. If it lands far above, you're likely paying trading-company markup; buying from the factory that manages its own supply chain removes one layer entirely.
